The Disappointing Assassin
Reviewed by XGreenGorillaX on November 16, 2007 | report this review
Let me start of by saying: this is an interesting game. You start in a lab or hospital in the future, yes in the future not the time of the Crusades. When I first started I was wondering how they were going to make a game about an Assassin during the Crusades. After a little chatting you get put into this machine that allows you to bring up memories from ancestors. Enough background information let's talk about how the game plays out. When you first start the game the controls can be a little confusing but when you get used to it it feels pretty comfortable. Another cool thing about this game is the historical realism. The city you travel to are all real real places in that time and they are very close to the real thing. Another cool thing in this game is that all the people you assassinate are all people that actually existed and disappeared around that time. This is an awesome game but it has its flaws. First off is the repetitiveness. Your goal is to assassinate nine people and before each assassination you have to investigate your target by doing three different missions persuasion, pickpocket, and eavesdrop. They could have come up with some more creative investigation missions. But, none the less this a great game that I recommend to everyone fond of platform games and action games. From what I have said it probably sounds like I didn't like this game, that's not I really enjoyed this game, but I was disappointed due to all the hype.
WHAT DO YOU THINK: In Assassins Creed you constantly switch from the future to the past. What do think of this?

Graphics:
The cinematic visuals are truly awe-inspiring.
Control:
There's not a very large learning curve and they're reminiscent of Ubisoft's Prince of Persia games.
Music / Sound FX / Voice Acting:
The bustling streets and fighting scenes are well captured, but the voice acting left a bit to be desired.
Play Value:
The story is great and open level design allows for some modicum of replayability.
Overall: One of the best games ever and is a must buy.
Sickest Game ever

This game will blow you away. I cant stop playing it.
You start of in the future (yes it confused me 2)
The reason is you have to go back through your ancestors memories to help change the future. The control scheme is really confusing at first but after the tutorials its like second nature.I really have no complaints about this game except when you get taken out of the memories it takes a while to get back in due to the dialogs with the doctors.
sweetest game ever

this game is the best ever. you wont be able to stop playing it. once you pick up the controller you wont be able to put it down again until early the next morning. in this game you start in the future, in a lab of some sort, with people trying to discover the memories of your ancestors through you with some sort of machine. when in the past you are an assassin that works for the peace of the citizens around you and kill the evil people that corrupt the world. your mission is to assassiante 9 important poeple to regain your status after it was taken from you. i would recomend this game to any one that loves killing people secretly, jumping off buildings and fighting lots of poeple at once. 10 out of 10

its so good that i got banned from my 360 for a week! the graphics gameplay everything is amazing! I love the par core /free running in this game as well as the freedom! The only thing I got kinda annoyed with was that it takes a while to get used to doing combos. I still have trouble with it sometimes! OVERALL: ITS THE BEST GAME I'VE EVER PLAYED AND ITS A MUST GET!
Assassin's Creed
One player, adventure/action game. it has boring tutorial that you have to go through at the beginning but other than that this game is totally awesome. you can run up practically any building. it takes you through Jerusalem and Acre just to name a few places. everybody in the game has an affect on how you get away from your pursuers. you can either be stealthy like a true assassin or you can just kill everybody(which is pretty fun!!).it has a very good story and is bound to have a sequel. if you havent played this game than you are definetly missing out!!

Gameplay: Creed delivers a smooth gameplay and easy pick up and go controls. The control feels weightless while playing and you never get tired of randomly assassinating people. Gameplay gets a 5/5.
Story: The story of the game really is interesting. It has a solid story and an interesting twists. The story may seem to repeat with each head character but its still refreshing each time. Story gets a 5/5.
Graphics: The graphics are amazing. From the characters to the city, the graphics will blow you away. Graphics get a 5/5.

This is littraly The BEST game i have ever played in 4 years! If any one loves next-generation games, you need this game today. its begining i is a little confusing, but after you get past it, it is like it sucks you into the game, and won't let go.
Ehhh....
Ok, so the sound & grfx were GREAT and gameplay was pretty fun...FOR ABOUT 4 HOURS!!! Then it bores itself out! With no weapon nor character customization the game become repetative FAST! Your charter & wepons dont upgrade nor change neither do your attacks so it becomes the same thing again & again... Great for a rental but not worth owning, although the story line is great & unique but just go watch it on youtube or something...
A Gem for the 360 :)

Wonderful and well laid out gameplay that gives you freedom. of movement throughout the world without leaving you wondering what your objectives are. Visually stunning with high flying, cinematic views.. Very enticing gameplay the raises the bar for the next generation of games :)
Not For Me, but still good.

Alright, this game seriously reminded me of Prince of Persia, you know, minus the time powers. With the success of that series, I guess Ubisoft thought it was a good Idea, which it was. The controls are well executed, but somewhat simple, and the sword fighting does get stale after a while. The graphics are AMAZING, crisp and clear. The main reason I don't like this game is because it starts off with a plot twist. You buy the game thinking your in the past, killing random soldiers. Then you start it up, and your in some seriously futuristic lab with a crazy scientist. But while I may not like this game, it's still a great buy and I'm sure if you buy it you wont be disappointed.
Yuck, this game is awful

What an extremely boaring and obnoxious game. We bought this game thinking it would be a little like hitman, NOT! This game is terrible. Has about 25 different combinations you have to remember in order to use the controls, and has a lot of leader. Might has well be watching a movie, takes forever to get the stupid game started. Gave up after about the first hour of "training" it was extremely dull and we put if up and traded it the day after we got it. If I could give it a lower rating then one star I would!
Awsome Assassin

The graphics are good, the story is great, The replay value isn't. You do the same thing over and over again. Before you take out your target you have to research him, by eavesdropping, pick pocketing, interrigating, or doing favors for your fellow assassins in exchange for information. The actual assassination is fun but the way you do the research is always the same, so it isn't. I recamend buying it used because it isn't worth buying it new.
Great game! Another Ubisoft Masterpiece!

This game was really good. The graphics are insane, and I loved the free-running. The only problem is that it gets a little repetitive. Every mission is the same thing over and over again. Search for the target and assassinate him. Still, it is an amazing game and deserves at least a rent.
A Fresh Twist

Just before I bought this game, I was getting frustrated at the unbelievable limits of all the games out there. (For some reason I was playing tomb raider, where your climbing abilities only venture as far as.. jumping... Literally...) I have to say I was frustrated at the large blue screen that cut off parts of the world earlier in the game.. It took me out of the mood, but sort of necessary in some ways.
Anyway, to the pros.
I absolutely loved the fighting in this game..You don't HAVE to just defend and hit, nor do you have to sit and wait there, for your opponent to hit and you to counter. It let's you feel much more like you are actually in control, when you click for him to do something, and he.. ACTUALLY does it.. This game has a new perspective of freeroaming that no other has yet.
However.. The enemies became easy as I progressed, and I was slaughtering at least groups of 20 in a matter of seconds, which would seem cool, but gets boring. The fights only once again became interesting for the final boss and the earlier one.
Yet, I still loved this game, and it drove me to keep playing until I had as much as I was willing to do in a game, done. If you are looking for a game that can keep you interested for a while, this is a great choice.
Pretty Good
