Dead Rising - Overall Great Game

Dead Rising
Zombie-Killing Fun
---------
Gameplay:
The gameplay is great, but it may become repetitive or fustrating. If you get to that point you will probably become bored of it, but the point of it is to make you kill more zombies. It also consists of an RPG-type level system, but unfortunately it's not customizable - it picks what stats you level up each level.
Graphics:
The graphics look really nice, but if you look close the textures don't really have a good resolution. The cutscenes and videos don't look as great either. There's also some interesting visuals in the game.
Controls:
The controls are okay, but some weird things happen when you try to push things around - you might pick it up instead. Also, the fact that you can't rotate your view bothers me.
Sound:
I don't hear anything wrong at all - the zombies sound well... like zombies. Everything else sounds nice, from the guitar to the lawnmower.
--- The Bottom Line ---
Dead rising is an overall great game, but the gameplay may become fustrating. The graphics aren't as good as some other X-Box 360 games though - but still look great. If you're feeling like mindlessly destroying everything in your path - this is the game for you.

This game is a blast to play. Some people find the save system frustrating, but I didn't have a problem with it. The game is actually designed so you have to play through a couple of times to do everything.... it is nigh impossible to do it all the first time through. The graphics are servicable, and the in-game cutscenes do a great job of telling the wacky story. This game's delightful humor goes a long way and really adds to its charm. Love it or hate it, Dead Rising is one of my favorites for the Xbox 360.

Anyways, enough of the Pros, let's get to th Cons.
I am one to say, I don't dislike time limit games, but some people do. For those who do, then rent this game first, just in case. You are in a mall filled with zombies for three days. And with every game, there's a storyline. And you must complete the storyline before 12:00 PM on the third day, because that is when the helicopter comes back for you. You must be on the helipad on that time, because if you aren't you're trapped in the mall with zombies, FOREVER! Or something like that..

I give this game an 8/10 just because the whole beginning of the game should be skippable, doing the first 15 minutes of the game 100 times sorta makes it lame

Beyond the 72-hour goal, your objective is multi-fold and pretty hardcore. You can casually just wade into the undead-filled mall for some kicks and simply whale away with whatever weapons you can find. There are hundreds, from traditional mayhem-makers like chainsaws and pistols to less conventional weaponry like plasma TVs with stabby corners, hedge clippers that chop zeds in two at the torso, and pointy electric guitars that deliver slabs of head-busting heavy metal. When you're ready to track down the disease instead of harassing the symptoms, you can follow what the game calls "Case Files," a string of time-constrained events that you must meet in order to "solve" the mystery of the zombie outbreak within the 72 hours.

Way to go Capcom on making another new great zombie game. This game is just amazing. The graphic are just amazing and its a very fun game to play. One thing about this game though is that you really need to have a HDTV to really enjoy this game. The reason I say this is that when ever you are given a mission the captions are barely readable on a regular TV, but on a HDTV you can read the captions perfectly. Even if you are playing it on a regular TV, the graphics will still blow your mind. With multiple endings and great gameplay, this game will make you want to continue playing it long after you have beaten it.

Well i have to say the depth of the story line truly isnt the games high point but it still is very original. one of the great things about the game is there are so many usable objects to kill zombies... everything from cds....to teddy bears and potted plants....the special moves you learn are a great addition as it makes it a game to look forward to playing like the lariat and the disembowel...... the achievments seem a little to easy to obtain though and i wish they had more difficult achievments. Also after you get to the max level which is only level 50 and have all gameplay modes the replay value diminishes extremly which is to bad... and as for the downloadable content from XBL i havent seen any new updates for it in quite awhile which is really to bad. also the unlockables for beating the game after meeting certain requirments is always fun to try to get so overall i have to say its a great game...

Let's face it people, killing zombies is fun. There is nothing quite as satisfying as killing a zombie, and it's completely guilt-free! They're already dead! Dead Rising is not the first game to have zombies, but the sheer number of the undead the game throws at you make it different from any other zombie game out there. It's literally like playing a George A. Romero movie, complete with shopping mall setting and the appropriate level of cheese to the story

Not the best game for the 360 thus far but the second best. When you start the game it is kinda frustrating once it hits night the first time, have a plan if you want to rescue survivors on a low level, because in the park there are 3 annoying inmates on a jeep with a turret that will kill your inmates and you off if you do not run (they appear 9 times out of 10 when you have survivors with you.) Also, the first optional boss is the clown and he can get a little annoying when he jumps off the second story down below where all the zombies are, so try leading him back through the play area and up the stairs where the rockets are and jump over to the other platform, you'll have led him back up to the second floor away from zombies making him an easier fight; but that's only if he jumps to the first floor. Things I hated was the crappy aim on guns, it takes a very long time to aim with a gun and you can't just look at something and shoot it expecting to hit it, you need to go into aim mode, and usually whatever you hit is gonna be very hard to shoot since it constantly moves.
Great Fun!
A lot of fun but also hard. The game is extremely challenging and the time limit in my opinion limits the games fun. If there were no time limit, id feel happy just killing lots of zombies and of course saving the survivors but i like doing it at my own time. Instead im hav the feeling as if i need to r8ush by all the zombies to reach the survivors in time when id rather be running into them and blowing their brains out. The weapons are numerous in the game but the mall has specific spots. Most of the time Im in the food court or clothes department of the store so there arent any weapons to get. Good game, lots of fun tho.

Very Fun And Challenging
First off I have one thing to say if you rate this game make sure you rate it a 5 when you say its a 5, and not a 1 when you say its a 5, that gets me ticked, because it lowers the rating score of that game. Ok now to rating this game. This game is very fun, but also kinda hard, because when the zombies gang up, or when you have sucky weapons, like cd cases, then its X_X.. But with so many possible weapons, the killer graphics from the 360, an awesome storyline, being able to take pictures is awesome, and 100s of zombies at the same time O_O all moving and acting like the zombies would, and not just all the same way, but each one is different in its on special zombie way. I do no own this game yet, im just renting it until i can get it off here or ebay. Oh also the bad things about it the aiming system sucks bad, its not auto lock :(, he cant run, just jump....i think, and time gose bye just a bit quick like 2 or 3 real life hours is like a day on the game. But the game is still 5/5 stars

Zombie Death? Murder? Kill?

If you're a fan of horror movies, Dead Rising is probably right up your alley. You play a photojournalists trapped for 3 days in a suburban mall full of zombies.
This game is a mixed blessing. Let's start with all the good aspects. The game is FUN. We've all seen the movies with zombies staggering around, and we've all hung out in malls, feeling bored. Put the two together, and voila! You can walk into any store and grab things to bash the zombies with. Run them over with a lawnmower! Pick up a piece of wood and start swinging! Or, my personal favorite, grab an electric guitar at the music store, whip it around like a fast-moving samurai sword, and hear the TWANG when you make contact!
There's an interesting plot to go with it too. I love that the various humans have names and that you actually learn about them, see their interactions and connect with them. You really care (or at least I do!) when you screw up and they get killed. It gives you a lot of incentive to replay the game to try to get everybody out. If you save a husband and his wife, they have a joyful reunion! It really draws you into the game.
So there is definitely a lot going for this game. However, there are a few signs that the game could have used a few more months in testing before it was released. First, we have a large high def TV, so we don't have a problem "seeing things". However, I've heard from many of my site visitors that on smaller TVs it's nearly impossible to read words or to understand the text messages. That's just unfair. They should have made the game easily playable even on non-high-def or smaller TVs.
Plus, why have to read dialogue at all in a horror game? That really interferes with the immersing quality. If you're knee deep in zombie fighting, you don't want to have to puzzle out what a victim is saying to you. They should just yell it out to you in real time so you can keep swinging while you listen.
The real killer here, though, is the loading screen. You take 5 steps. LOADING. You turn around. LOADING. You go up the stairs. LOADING. Good God!! With all the other HUGE map games out on the market that load seamlessly, there is no reason that a mall-based game could not do the same. It might have taken a month of coding time to work that in but it would have been WELL worth it.
Also, the save system is questionable. Only one save? One save at all? What if a friend comes over and wants to play forward for the weekend? Having just one save spot, in a world with a massive hard drive of storage, is nonsensical.
Still, you can deal with those issues, and the game really is a lot of fun. Remember though that it is a MATURE game with zombies with exploding heads and a lot of gore. So if you're a mature gamer who enjoys horror movies, definitely pick this one up!

If your a fan of grand theft auto you will probably be a fan of this game they are simular just instead of shooting gangsters and chopping them and half your doing it to zombies. This game can be very addicting at first I didnt like it due to having a time limit to do events. But after you do that your free to do anything you want. If you a fan of horror games this game is right for you. Although this is a very fun game the controls can be very confusing sometimes and frusturating. But killing zombies in all the possible ways you can think of is pretty fun.
Action and Survival Horror

This game is a great mix of those two genres. It's Grand Theft Auto and Resident Evil all in one. I was frustrated at first because of the save system. Save early and often or you can end up with quite a bit of backtracking. The game plays fairly fast, with little downtime. The main story you follow keeps you interested but it would be nice for more time in between missions so you can either explore or save more civilians. It is fun so don't miss out.
One of the Best games on 360.

This game is so great because it just has so much variety in it. It has so many weapons, Bosses, and ways to complete the game. It has the same shooting mechanic from RE4 for guns and for the camera. The best part of the game is the RPG elements for leveling up frank. This game is must buy.

Great game they need more games like this that !It makes you wanna go back and play the game to save the people u couldn't or didn't save and to kill the people u didn't kill. It was also fun to give every body that you had running with you weapons, ( like pistols or shotguns) and just let them blast away at the zombies its fun. Come on am i right or am i right?

Basically you go around killing zombies in different ways basically theres a story mode your timed on and have to be there at certain times I wasnt too fond of it at first but you get use to it. But you level up as you go makes killing zombies alot more interesting. The graphics are really good and the cut-scenes can be quite gory at times. The controls basically take time getting use to but when you get use to it the game becomes pretty addicting. Overall this is a fun game and if you dont already have it, Its worth getting.
