Top Spin 2 is awesome

There isn’t a ton of variety in professional tennis, so there’s no sense in getting all excited about the fancy gameplay in Top Spin 2. Top Spin 2 is a fairly straightforward tennis sim, featuring a robust create-a-player for the Career mode, and some of the world’s best talent for online and offline battles.

Top Spin 2 is played like traditional tennis, either in singles and doubles format, with both types being split into genders. Mixed doubles are possible too, as it is a sanctioned event in most ranked matches. Quick Match in Top Spin 2 allows you to pick from many of the best men and women players and go at it offline style. Federer, Williams, Roddick, Sharapova, and many more are just a few of the highly-talented players that were worked into Top Spin 2.

Along with Quick Match play, Top Spin 2 features a super-deep Career Mode complete with an intricate create-a-player section. After picking from various strands of base DNA (base character models), everything from playing style to skin tone can be modified with the use of handy sliders. There are various equipment upgrades too, all sponsored by real-deal manufacturers looking for that laser-focused target audience. Equipment can be purchased with money earned from winning matches and, you guessed it, signing endorsement deals with, well, real-deal manufacturers

You would think a tennis game would be pretty bland, seeing all you do is hit a ball back and forth, but the makers of this game at 2k Sports have added so much depth and strategy into this game it results in hours upon hours of consistently fun gameplay !

You would think a tennis game would be pretty bland, seeing all you do is hit a ball back and forth, but the makers of this game at 2k Sports have added so much depth and strategy into this game it results in hours upon hours of consistently fun gameplay. There are many , and I mean MANY, different tennis strokes you will have to learn and master before you can play the likes of Roger Federer!!

First of all there are many game modes you can play:

1) You can play a quick game against one of your friends or the computer in quick game mode.

2) You can play a tournament of your choice such as the Wimbledon Open and play as one of many actual pro tennis players that are in this game such as Federer, Blake, Sharapova, Roddick, you name them they are probably in the game. Each player has there own signature strengths and weaknesses, such as Roddick's punishing serve, or Federer's killer finesse shots.

3) You can play a very in-depth career where you can create your own player and take advantage of the tons of character tweeking abilities and literally come out with a player who is a spitting image of yourself!! In career mode you start out as a rookie who is just starting out ranked 200th as the Pro and climb your way to #1, which can take a very long, but fun time (I have been #2 for three seasons now! ) Along the way you will earn attribute points to upgrade your player's numerous tennis skills, hire and fire coaches, sign different endorsement deals for millions of dollars, buy hundreds of actual name brand tennis equipment and clothing, gain internet fan clubs, get trash talked by pro tennis rivals (which you will encounter!) and so much more.

4) Play in a fun arcade mode with friends or by yourself and choose different games where the whole point is to strategically hit placed targets and land in specific areas of the tennis court before the timer runs out. This is tons of fun.

There is also an online mode where you can play others with your own created player and then see how they stand up to other people's characters to be called the ultimate Top Spin 2 champ!!!

This is a fun and challenging game and I would recommend it to any Tennis fan!!
