Revolutionizing

This is probably one of the best game on Xbox, it was also my first game on Xbox. The story is just a sci-fi classic this game is just perfect. The only game that gets close to this one is Metroid Prime but after that this one of the greatest video games of all time.

One of my first games on the Xbox, I had read alot about it and was surrounded by the storyline, this may possibly be the best Xbox game, from the wide selection of weapons, numerous enemies, and more, you wont be disappointed

After all the hype on it, I finally played the game, and it really disappointed me. Single player was not fun at all. I can't say anything about the multiplayer though, since I never got a chance to play that (maybe that's the part that was actually fun about it *shrug*).

I absolutely love FPS games, but this one really wasn't that good. I just don't get it. It was just really boring.

Maybe I'm insane?

AMAZING!!!! Great game I would w/o a doubt give this game a 5 star rating. The multiplayer mode is awsome (Yes I know that there is Halo 2 out.) Some say 2 is Better but I disagree THIS GAME IS AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Halo is a great game the first time around. One of the best. I can't compare the PC games because I hate PC controls, and my computer is too slow, but as far as console shooters go, this is the best I've played. Very engaging, amazing amount of action, just the right difficulty.

Multiplayer is alright. Definitely fun, but it gets old. Coop is surprisingly fun, though.

Playing single player the second time around is quite boring, so it's hard to beat it with different difficulties, because you'll get bored quicker than the first time around. Coop doesn't get old though...unless you die or something right before you beat a level. That ALWAYS sucks.

I recommend getting this game, and I mean to keep, not a rental. That's because you might not be able to beat it quick enough, and it's fun to play coop with a friend.

Then again, games that people say you can beat "in a few hours" take me a few months to get even close to the end...and then I usually give up. :)

Not many games impress me easily, but this game is one of those who impressed me easily. Great graphics, sound, and gameplay. Sure, sometime it might get repetitive, but at least you know what to do! This game was my first xbox game purchased!

Simple storyline with reproduced environments. Yes, I agree that the single player is not revolutionary. But the multiplayer aspect is what makes it one of the most popular games. Halo 2 ramps it up, and you should get that over Halo in my opinion, but if you are trying to conserve your purchase points or are just testing this series out, this is not a bad game at all.

HALO Combat Evolved (HCE) is what saved the xbox against the PS2. I'm one of the reasons of that, why? Because I only bought the Xbox for this game. Microsoft realized that this game was their diamond in the sand and quickly bought the company that produced the game, Bungie. This game has an imprevise Story and physics. The AI in the game is decent, but if you want some real action you should played in multiplayer. I loved to trow granades in this game, it just wonderful. I don't have to said more, GO and BUY THIS GAME!

I dont know how some of you on this site give it bad reviews!!! however they are oppinions to be respected!!!
this was one of the first games i owned on the Xbox and i must say the first time i played it i was hooked!!! yes it can get a bit repetitive occasionally but with the Co-Op and 4 different difficulties it is an awesome game to own!!! if you are reading this and have never played the game but are looking into it i would highly recomend it!!! this is one of the games i will play until it is not playable!!!!!

The first is the only one I've played yet, I've beaten it on legendary mode a few times. This is definately one of the best games I've ever played, infact probably my second favorite. I love the single player mode, the weapons are awesome. Online is great too, I love to piss others off, hehehe! :O

This is a cool game. Me and my friend do two player every time i go to his house. One player is very cool to. The alians are pretty cool, but I think the humans are better. And when you do two player, one of the best weapons to get is the shotgun.

this game is the best game in the world besides halo 2. in this game the weapons that you can get are awsome and whenever you shoot someone blood goes evrywhere. the blood effects are really cool. the only thing i dont like about it is it rated M it should be T it is really overrrated. it kinda gets a little boring in singleplayer but multi player with 2 to 8 people is awsomw you should get it!!!!!

Halo is one of the most graphically impressive games released in videogame history. The attention to detail is excellent. For instance, when using an assault rifle, you can see each clip as it is used. Incredible draw distances, outstanding cutscenes, and marvelous camera work contribute significantly.
In respect to audio, Halo outshines the competition. The sound effects are spectacular and the soundtrack is killer. In-game voice acting has never been so good. You can hear your allied marines chatter about the enemy, when they have been hit, where the enemy may be, etc etc. In addition, you can hear the frantic cries of the running enemy when you and your shotgun sneak up on them. Playing this game in Dolby Digital will give the gamer an unsurpassed gaming experience.

In actual gameplay, this is where Halo redefines first person shooters. No other console game has gone where Halo goes. Halo is comprised of 10 well-designed, surprisingly large levels, mixing indoor and outdoor environments, to give the gamer an experience which will not soon be forgotten. And this is no normal shooter either. You can play campaign mode single player or with a friend. This is the first game to have a great "co-op" mode. If you can't beat a level, call a friend and work together. Playing the 'single-player' mode with a friend makes the game a far more enjoyable experience.

The developers of Halo knew what they were doing when they included vehicles in the game. Throughout the game, you will use a variety of vehicles to help you defeat the enemy. Some are slow but powerful tanks, while others are quick hovercraft. Several of the vehicles allow more than 1 player to get in, thus letting 1 person drive while the other blast the enemy away.

However, where Halo really shines is in its multiplayer. With 4 players, 2v2 deathmatches are just a blast. However, with a Cable or DSL connection you will be able to play Halo online! You can play with up to sixteen players in pure madness. Of all the time I spend playing Halo, 90% of it is online. It is just incredible. It takes everything positive about console gaming and pulls the online gaming from traditional PC games to make Halo one of the most enjoyable games ever made.

Should you buy Halo? Absolutely! And don't worry about getting bored anytime soon. With friends and online play, you will be playing this one for months.

The orignial Halo has some of the best concepts for first person shooters. I thought the game was well worth the money as it takes quite a bit in order to beat the game. Multi-player is the BEST out of all the FPS's that I've encountered. Even Halo 2 can't hold a candle to it. This game will be an eternal classic! If you haven't played it yet... get a copy from me!! I have a few! :p Also, don't listen to the haters who call this game lame. If they think it is lame... they must be RPG nerds. :p

Halo: Combat Evolved was a revolution in video games. It has been on the market for almost six years now, and, in my opinion, is still better than some of the newest xbox 360 games. Halo is the reason that first person shooters are so popular today. If you don't own it, u need it. The story, the game play, the weapons selection, all get five starts in my book.

I own Halo as well as halo 2. They are both awesome games. The story is so good, it will keep you playing for hours. There is one bad thing about the game though. The Xbox live feature is not on. This is a reasonable problem, though i do think they should have gotten it worked out before it came out. It would have made the game a lot easier. Overall, i think this is a really great game. I'd give it a four out of five.

Halo combines insane action with amazing graphics and gameplay to become one of the best 3D FPS games ever. Multiplayer is a blast with vehicles and weapons galore, and the SP is dark and moody with plenty of gun fighting all around.

I first got this game on the pc, the graphics were horrible and the gameplay just wasn't that great. But then I got my xbox and got it for it. Halo rocked on the box and the multiplayer was awesome. The campaign mode was good to, but it could have looked a little bit better. All around though microsoft made a good choice in getting halo all for itself. If they didn't the xbox might not have became a great system.

#1 of 3 games out in the halo universe. Older than a lot of games out there, 2001 game of the year. This game was so popular, there were books made after it. Three books before Halo 2 came out

Anybody can enjoy this game. It still takes skill to play. My opinion, one of the best games Microsoft has ever come out with.

Single player, huge replay value. Fight against the barbaric covenant armada hell bent on destroying anything the human race stands for. The weapons in the games have pretty much moved across the series to the third Halo title.

Gameplay is still the same, no xboxlive. Can play it on xboxconnect (XBC) if you don't mind a lot of lag issues

This has been my favorite game ever since i first played it...rivals Half-Life. Suggest every person should at least play it.
