Game Description

Based on the DUEL MASTERS collectable card game, Atari's DUEL MASTERS: SEMPAI LEGENDS for the GBA puts players in the role of a duelist as they build a deck of 40 cards from over 180 different available monsters, traps, spells, and other cards. The story mode of Sempai Legends centers around a young duelist named by the player. He receives a legendary card from his grandfather, a champion duelist. But before he can use it, someone steals the card. Now the young duelist must travel from town to town dueling others while searching for the mysterious thief and the rare card. Each duel in DUEL MASTERS consists of two players facing off against each other with the goal of destroying the other player's five shield cards. To do this, players summon monsters by sacrificing other cards of the same element to generate mana points. Once summoned, these monsters can battle opponent's monsters or attack the other player's shield cards. A number of other cards can be played, including magic spells and other stat-boosting cards. Winning a duel nets players five cards from their opponent's deck. As they play through story mode, players familiar with the cartoon based on DUEL MASTERS will see several familiar faces. Once story mode is completed, players can link up with another DUEL MASTERS player using the GBA link to challenge each other or trade cards. Gamers who enjoy YU-GI-OH and other card battle games will find DUEL MASTERS a new, exciting challenge.
