This game is amazing never played a resident evil game until I got his. I got it and beat it in 8 days. After you beat the game there are a lot of extras and another difficulty level that add to the replay value. If you have a wii and even if you've played this game for gamecube or ps2, its still worth buying.

Greatest-Game-Ever

There's a very good chance that you've already played Resident Evil 4 on the GameCube or PlayStation 2 (or, heaven forbid, the PC). Yet the best games are worth playing through all over again. Not only does RE4 itself remain a heart-pounding thrill ride and a modern classic, but the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controls breathe new life into a game that is still a treat to play, two years after release.

If by some miracle of chance you haven't played Resident Evil 4 yet, you've got some catching up to do. You play as Leon S. Kennedy, a secret agent in charge of recovering the president's kidnapped daughter. His search leads to a creepy Spanish village whose residents are, well, not quite lucid. The story drops the occasional cliché, but for the most part, it avoids the usual horror pratfalls to deliver an interesting, intense narrative with a number of fascinating characters. It's also genuinely creepy, leading you through abandoned farmhouses, dank churches, and dripping caves, all the while throwing progressively weirder and stronger enemies at you. Like the PS2 version, it also includes a side story called Separate Ways, where you take control of spy Ada Wong and explore some of the same storyline from her perspective. Unfortunately, the Wii version doesn't include any new, exclusive content.

At its core, this is the same Resident Evil 4 that multitudes of players have grown to appreciate. It's a carefully paced, often breathtaking action game that keeps you on the edge of your seat with lumbering almost-zombies, chanting cultists, and challenging fights against gargantuan bosses. You view the action from a third-person view, and when you ready a weapon, the camera zooms in close. Once you've drawn your weapon, you can't walk, but you can aim. It all feels very deliberate, but it's perfectly countered by the measured speed at which your enemies approach you. However, you shouldn't take this to mean that the action is any less exciting than in a traditional shooter. These are dangerous foes, and you've got to pump them full of lead before they fall.

The fundamental combat is where the game shines most. Your arsenal consists of pistols, shotguns, rifles, and more, with every weapon producing credible results. Popping pitchfork-wielding villagers will cause them to drop their weapons. Or you can shoot them in the knees to make them momentarily fall to the ground. Because ammunition isn't plentiful, being able to handle a crowd of shambling psychopaths with as few shots as possible is a main priority. You've always got a knife as a last resort, but unless you want to take a chunk of damage, it's better to keep your distance.

But what makes this release so special are the subtle differences wrought by the version's definitive controls. Movement and turning are controlled using the Nunchuk's analog stick, and you enter aiming mode by using the remote's B button. But the most noticeable improvement is in aiming your weapon. The laser sight has

There are many things one can say about the survival horror series that sparked a genre almost single handedly. Most of those things would be true - deep character involvement, fascinating graphics, and of course, the thought provoking melodies that would creep out even John Carpenter to a certain level. Most of the other comments you might hear may suggest that Resident Evil has had its run at being one of the top games. I, however, have this to say about those who suggest Resident Evil has met its end; you have not played Resident Evil 4. What's more, you have not played Resident Evil 4 on the Wii.

Of course, if you are any kind of horror game fan, then you have played Resident Evil either on the GameCube or the PlayStation 2. If you have not, then what rock have you lived under for the last two years? Okay, okay, maybe that is a little harsh, especially for those that have been, in fact, zombies to the next gen craze over the last year. Again, I kid. The simplest statement to be made about Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition is that there is truly no reason to not buy this game. Unless you do not have a Wii.

Leon S. Kennedy has become a special agent that operates under orders from the president. Leon is in search of the president's daughter around with less than required information about the village where everyone seems to hate him. The thing that made Resident Evil 4 such an instant classic was the fact that it strayed away from the previous titles in ways that made it seem fresh. Zombies were the normal in previous installments. This time around, we have villagers that are raving mad, and their one common thought is that they do not like Leon one bit. I mean, for cripes sake, they have a troll.

I will not tread too much on the particulars of the game mainly due to the two years it has been available for mass consumption. However, two years in video game terms means a lot of advancements have been made to the graphics of games as a whole. Not to say that the PS3 and Xbox 360 do not do an extraordinary job delivering life-like replicas of environments we know, instead, it is to say that anyone would have a hard time finding a game that oozes eye candy with every exploding head like Resident Evil. Of course, the dialogue is a bit drab, but you have to remember that this is a Resident Evil game and, in addition, a survival horror game, so we should never expect too much. However, there are moments in the drama of the story you actually buy into the words flowing from the characters synched mouths.

You are not going to pick this game up for the rehash of the original title though, are you? No, you will pick this title up for the sheer possibility that a third party developer has figured out how to incorporate what we so desperately need on the Wii - the capability of shooting with precision and speed. RE4 delivers on both of those counts. So well that if you are not excited by the forthcoming title Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chro

This is a must have for anyone that has a Wii, anyone that is a Resident Evil fan or a zombie fan. The story is good, complex and lenghty. The visuals are really good, they look like the best gamecube game we have seen. The controls take a bit getting used to, but once you get it, it becomes second nature. Point, aim and shoot. A very fun game that will entertain and the extra unlockables are a nice bonus.

greatest wii shooter ever

this game is one of the best shooters on the wii. it has excellent graphics from the game cube and extras from the ps2. the game is very lengthy and will entertain ond scare the crap out of you for countless hours, and when you beat the game there are even more mini games to play such as the mercenairies assignment ada separate ways and some extra vidios. this is a great game because you can even have fun playing it after the 5th or even 10th time you beat it with all the extras you can get such as ashely's knight suit and leons gangster costume. if by chance you havent managed to play this game for one of the other platforms you are leon scott kennedy from resedent evil 2, and you have been sent to rescue the presedents daughter, ashely, in a creepy village. the only back up you have is a woman from hq named hunnigan and to poilce officars that quickly die. you soon realize this isn't any ordinary village, but a village infected by a parasite called the las plagas. your journey leads you to fight giant ogres, mutated zombies, zombie dogs, creepy bugs, giant fish, super humans and much more. in this game you dont get a wealth of ammo so you'll want to shoot them in the face and kick them down, although the wii remote has made presice aiming much easier than on the previous plat forms. this game will keep you on the edge of your seat like millions of other people around the world. there are also many different weapons you can wield, such as shotguns revolvers handguns uzies sniper rifles, rocket and mine launchers and a few more weapons to add to the games amazingness, it's only 30-35 dollars new so its totally worth purchasing. you wont be dissapointed.

Alas, here we are again. Just as we thought that this fad had come and gone, it got up and struke again. Packed with the features from the PS2 Special edition and loaded with new Wii controls Resident Evil 4 makes its return.

The gameplay is completely unaltered, which is you're Leon Kennedy. An American secret service agent dispatched to locate and rescue to president's daughter. Which ends up taking you to some remote village in spain? (Which I half wonder how she got there in the first place)

The graphics haven't been improved any since the PS2 version, but its still better looking than the majority of the games out for Wii.

The new controls are amazing, especially if you're the type of person who just aims better if you can point and click. Being a veteran of the game, I found that I could breeze through this with the improved accuracy. Although, the con of these new controls is that they tend to have a few hiccups occasionally in particular, when you switch to your inventory then switch back in the midst of a critical moment, you may find that the controls go out of control then. Another odd aspect of the controls is that you can't move your direction simply by pointing the cursor offscreen. You need to use the nunchuck attachment for that.

Overall, its the same deal with a little extra something. Although I personally would have liked to see some new features added to the game. Such as the ability to move while shooting, and I would have liked if this game did without the annoying crosshair curser. I liked laser of the other two games alot better. If you'd like to relive a grand experience on the Wii, with improved accuracy or are just a Resident Evil fan. Then you definately should get this game. If you are looking for something new, then turn away and wait for the sequel.

This game I recomend to everybody. I don't care about the M rating. Trust me, you will play this and love it. I had it for the game cube and loved it. Then the day it was released for the Wii I fell in love all over again. I hardly ran out of ammo in the game, maybe because I played it till my eyes blead for the game cube. Beating the extra stuff was a treat though. Didn't have any problem with Ada's side stories, but Mercenaries was a bit of a challange. I love the extra costumes, mostly Ashely's. Beating the game on hard was way fun. And the few extra guns are worth beating the game again and agian.

Well for one its only $30 which is a very good buy. But more importantly its graphics are great, storyline is very good, long playing time, ok music (not the best), awesome weapon selection and many more plus's. So all in all its a great game to get for yourself or as a gift.

I bought this game used after I got a Wii for Christmas. I was expecting a lot of things from this game... but I didn't get many. To me, it's way too slow paced and boring. It's basically shoot, walk a little, shoot, walk a little. And for a game about zombies, this game isn't very scary at all. I've seen school lunches scarier than this game. It's barely worth the $30 price tag. This game deserves the 2 out of 5 stars that it's getting.
