The Old Sonic is Still Better

Graphics- The graphics are okay but they could be better. I understand they like the cartoon graphics but they could still step it up a little. Graphics get a 3/5
Gameplay- The gameplay is awesome. The Wii remote does everything and it is really cool on how you move sonic. The gameplay is so easy to pick up and you will enjoy it so much. Gameplay gets a 5/5.
Storyline- This game had a really nice story. Unlike other sonics were you just have to past a stage to get to the next stage. This game has a story and it is quite good. Storyline gets a 5/5.

Not Very Good

I played it and beat it in like 2 days and it was very easy. I hate how you don't have full control of direction like it is completely set to make you go one way ya you can slow down and speed up but its pretty much like a race and the last boss was way to easy. This has to be one of my least favorite Sonic games ever
3D Sonic games are getting better!

I rather enjoyed this game. It looks nice compared to other wii games and the story book - style cutscenes were an interesting touch (although corny like all sonic story lines). I'm glad it doesnt have the "stuck camera" issues present in the free roam sonic games, it makes it that much better.
Gameplay is very fast paced and fun to run through. The surrounding level is well crafted although hard to see since it's whipping by. Control is handled with the wii-mote on its side and turned like a steering wheel while sonic automatically races forward. It works very smooth and responsive.
If you are a perfectionist, this game could last you a decent amount of time, but if you rush right through it, it will take you only about 2 days of lengthly play sessions. If you do this, you miss like half of the game; you really dont even complete it as there is an alternate end boss.
Unfortunately, this game suffers something that many anime shows also die from; very bad English voice acting! Please, do yourself a favor and switch it to japanese voice-overs. You still get English subtitles, so you don't miss anything.
This game deserves at the very least a rent but a purchase isnt too generous considering its about $30 now. So if you enjoy fast paced action or you're a sonic fan, go give this title a try.
Something new

Sonic’s new installment for the wii is certainly interesting. The main difference is that you control sonic with the wii mote turned sideways. The wii mote gives sonic a new edge, making it pretty fun to play. The story is kind off lame, very different from any previous sonic game. The new mini game make it fun to play with friends. Overall you’ll find that the game to be very fun, sonic fan or not, the game is worth a try.
Better than other 3d Sonic game but needs work

Let’s face it Sonic’s debut into the world of 3D games has been anything but stellar. They never have quite captured the feeling of speed that was in the 2D ones. Now after years of 3D Sonic games ,Sega return to their roots in the newest addition, Sonic and the Secret Rings for the Nintendo Wii.
Since it is on the Wii the controllers are going to be unique. You hold the Wii remote sideways, To turn you tilt the controller, To jump you press “2 and the longer you hold it the higher you go. When you are in the air you can thrust the Wii remote forward to do a homing attack, and “1 is the brake which you will not use very often. These controls work well and most of the time are very responsive. However there are times when the control seem to have a few hiccups. It is also a fun way to control Sonic but it will take some time to get used to so you will not be able just to pick up the game and be a pro right off the bat.
The game is really fun PART of the time. There are several types of missions that you have to play. The normal kind, which is clearly the best, is just reach the goal as fast as you can. These are very fun but then you are forced to play through almost the exact same level but with a slightly altered dumb objective like don’t get killed. These can be very frustrating and most of the time are not very fun. They put in some RPG (role playing games) elements where you level up and get different skills and more “skill points.
The story is a bit different, it is about being in a book of the Arabian Knights and you have to stop the main villain from destroying the book and escaping into the real world . The story works but is not particularly good or bad. It is just average but Sonic games has never been really story driven. Possibly the worst part of the whole game is the horrible voice acting, especially for the main villain.
The graphics of the game are some what impressive for the Wii and portrays the speed Sonic is going very well. Also the opening cut scene is crystal clear and very impressive.
Over all this is a good game but not great because of a few rather annoying faults. It looks good, is easy and fun to control, has good levels, but is pulled down by the bad voice acting and requiring to replay levels with only slightly changed objectives. There are some multi-player mini-games that are ok but there are a lot better collections of mini-games on the Wii. If you are a big 2D or 3D Sonic fan this is a must buy and for anyone else it will be entertaining for awhile.
i hate this.

this is a bad game. the gameplay is very hard and the storyline is dumb. it is so dumb, that i can't even get pass the first level.that day i returned it on the same day i got it. it was raining so hard, that i had to wear my rain boots and a jacket. and anyways,a lot of sonic and mario games were based on gamecube. and this one is dumb still because it just is! if you got a wii, don't get any sonic or mario games! and here is something to point out:if you get sonic riders zero G,guess what? you got the same game on your gamecube! almost all games are like that. and that is i sold my wii. now i will be only getting old sega systems, xbox, and sony things! and i hope you will sell your wii. and you can get sonic unleashed for PC.genisis games are better that this one.
