There are people who are going to like this game, and people who are not....It depends what you look for in a GTA title....People who have played the PSP version really have no reason to buy this game, because they are nearly identical...The PS2 version does put out a little better graphics, and a few more pedestrians, but that's about it....The big disappointing factor about this version is the fact that online play has been stripped from the game...leaving PS2 owners feeling a little left out...The graphics have been accused of not meeting the standards that you may expect from other past GTA titles on this console, but I disagree....I was never greatly impressed with any GTA graphics, and this title looks the same as any to me....The story line is a little weak, but again it's not a huge concern for me....It has that familiar mafia theme, and I welcome it back with open arms...The car handling has improved a little, and you can ride motorcycles, and scooters (unlike GTA3)...so now it's like having the best of both worlds....The New York styled city of GTA3, and the enhancements of Vice City...Getting away from the cops on foot is harder now, because the coppers run much faster, and basically all the violent free roaming part of the game is intact...The missions are shorter than normal, and a little monotonous at times, and the size of the city is much smaller than expected by Console stature...But given all of that, the game is still a blast, and for only 10 points, it's well worth the purchase....

Not what it was cracked up to be. the graphics didn't improve much, and the game was basically the same. i think it was a step down from san andreas. you can't swim and it is harder to do all of the missions in the game. overall, it was about a two for me.
