WOW! what a great game. you do need some rythem or you will just end up frustrated. I recommend to anyone that is a music buff!

I loved it. It's like one of those fun Japanese games, but with good songs. These are the great songs that you actually remember from years back. This game is one of the funnest on the PS2, although you can get very frustrated (not to mention how weird you look with that guitar ;)). I love this game. I can't wait until the second.

Why do a lot of people get turned off by those DDR games? It's because they don't recognize the music. Guitar Hero solves this problem by letting you play along with a lot of classic rock songs that everyone has heard or should hear. Many people dream of being a rock and roll star and now they have the opportunity to try in this game. It's a lot easier than learning the guitar in real life, yet still challenging. An interesting side effect of playing is when you finish a song and look at something on the wall it will appear to be moving backward and forward. This is due to the way your eyes follow the notes on the screen.

Not one person has turned down the opportunity to play this game.

It's simple and inviting.

Some of the songs are super easy, while others are super hard.

Playing along with a friend is a blast, but the cords sometimes get in the way.

I have never tried this game with a regular controller, only played with the guitar.

Well, maybe not ever, but right now it pretty much feels that way. This game is ridiculously fun, addicting, and even educational. Plus, it'll make you start liking songs you used to hate, like Sum 41's "Fat Lip." The song still sucks, but it's a lot of fun to play. And yes, you will look like an idiot holding the silly guitar; that's half the fun.

Even my wife, a non-gamer, is hooked. Some songs aren't so great, but there something for everyone in the set list, and there are some great bonus tracks too (My favorites: Even Rats and Ready 2 Rokk)!

Let's face it: This is a video game that is supposed to simulate playing a real guitar. Does it actually help you become a good guitar player? Heck no! Do you feel like a rock star when the virtual audience goes crazy as you whip out the insane guitar solos? Heck yes!

This is an amazing game! I got the second one first and was wondering if the first was just as good; it is. It's worth it to buy (or trade for if you're here) both of them. The songs are great too.

Although this may be a fun game to play, it would be wiser to invest in a REAL guitar and learn to play that using the time you would use playing this.

Much Much Much better than Guitar hero 2, Much Better bands like incubus, Red hot chili peppers, black sabboth. and guitar hero 2 is just classic songs not like thats a bad thing but i like this much better!

this game is so cool. sitting and listening to people play guitar and it is ok but playing this game brings you further into the guitar world. this game is so cool it actually feels like you are playing a guitar. those people who are not as coordinated as others and cant learn to play a guitar should defenently try this game because it makes learning the guitar so easier. so buy the game and have fun.

this game has way more features and way better songs than the first guitar hero game. this one lets u pick lead or bass in practice mode and lets u change speed. with a redoctane guitar controller and this game u can be rocking all night long!!!!! this is nothing like DDR except for the fact that its a rythm game. this game is highly recomended for any one who likes music or has good hand eye cordination!!!! just go and try not to like it!

Omg!!!!!! I dont know what else to start this off with. This is the coolest thing since the invention of the microwave. LOL I mean it doesnt matter if you are young or old this game will give you hour and hours of fun. My kids play this game my wife plays heck everyone I know plays this game. I was one of those skeptics at first and I thought man thats a kids game not an adult based game. But, boy was I wrong. I mean the songs are killer I have to play on easy thou. My wife has mastered to play on med now and only 3 days worth of playing she is almost a pro at it. She really beats me at this game. No joke. I would recommend this game to anyone. I have never has so much fun with a game in a long long time. I really want to play guitar hero 2 for the new songs and I want to see the differance if any on the 360 version of this game. Well I hope you run out and buy this one or any of the versions of this game you will not regreat it at all. Oh and by the way as far as this site goes you might as well forget getting someone to trade this game to you I have tried and tried and no luck............................................................ When I first played it was difficult but once you get the hang of it you have so much fun. when I see them on display I will rock out on expert and see people watch me strum faster then they can see.

I love this game a lot more than guitar hero 2. The songs are great so great i can't believe it. The character are so cool to, grim reaper is the best. The gameplay is good. I deffinetly recommend this game for the playstation2. 11

I personally think the second game is better, but this is the first and is pretty good. Basically you use a plastic guitar and hand-eye coordinationation to hit notes. There are 5 buttons (strings), use of long notes, chords,etc. Many difficulties, but lacks two player.
