This game looks good with and is fun for first 30 hours and after that lost and boredom. The game also lasts about 125 hours and more for the side quests and extra levels. The 2 plear mode is unbalace and it sucks (you would may have aready expted that) and I only heard six good music tracks, the rest is medicore or awful!
fun game

Two Words: Great RPG

If you like action games and you like RPG's this is the game for you. It starts off slow but after a while you really get into the action. The cut scenes are very clear you can see every detail. The story line has you hanging what is going to happen next. I love this game. You should buy it. Two Words is all it takes.
Was it worth it?

I paid full price for this game when it first came out. Excited to see the graphics and story line after their sucess with Star Ocean 2nd story.
Right about 15 hours into the game I start to think "Who cares" and even became annoyed with the fact that as soon as the story looked as though it were to progress, the characters would be called back (yet again) to a previous area and then spend a couple hours there. Then progress a little bit more only to return to yet another area. When I finally made it off the planet I thought "Hot dog!" but you just end up back again.
I promised myself I would finish the game, and that I would finally beat it, then sell it or whatever but I made it close to the end and just, stopped caring.
I give it 3 stars because I know that there will be fans that truly enjoy this type of game, and value its story line (can anyone say matrix?) but as for a die hard fan of SO2nd story this was a real stinker. The graphics were awesome when it was released and the music is nice, but story line and progression is for lack of a better word, dull.
I am hurt by this.

I thought this game would be great, but the truth is I couldn't get into the story-line, and the graphic's were pretty bad for the time this game came out. I wouldn't buy it maybe a rent.
the graphics

i understand that the graphics are sub-ar on this game but when u get into the story line you see why they chose those graphics. this the Deepest game the ps2 has to offer. final fantasy has nothing compared to this. all the charecters are great and each has there own individual highs and lows. The mini-quests are extradionary. The battle trophy system lets the player play it 2,3 or even 4 times through and still not have everything. The battle system takes some getting used to but once you do it is great. Ipersonally never played sto1 or sto2 but i am looking forward to them now. Isaw nothing wrong with this game, i enjoyed the fact that u die from both mp and hp deaths, i make partys based on that.
The second best villian was introduced in this game.
Sepheriroth is the best villian in any rpg but Albel is a close second. he reminds me of sepheriroth so much. i also fell in love with maria she is a great distance fighter.
the only perosn i found a little irratating is adury. he is kina like an arron based charecter but he fails at that.
The inventing guide is a great way to create and mkae weapons. there are so many items that u can only get from inventing that it becomes a must.
The story does seem similar to the matrix i agree but i like the matrix except for 3 and i think thsi game does a better job of getting the fake peopes veiws. like fayt and such. where as the matrix got a veiw more of reality, these people were real once, fayt was never real.
