Know your map boundaries
Hint by bastama on November 23, 2007 | report this hint
Always remember, if you're playing a multilayer session with a limited allowable zone to travel about in, you don't have out to the very edge of the depicted border in your map view. You have to actually stay within a couple feet of the border or you'll get warnings and eventually die. With this, it's usually best to know where the high and good vantage points are on the outskirts of your map. Believe it or not, there are several maps that have great vantage points for either snipers or rocket launchers. Very good for picking off enemies while they're still sitting over near spawn. Also, by the time they realize where the fire is coming from it will be too late because they've more than likely assumed that you're off the map. Also, if you get any incoming aircraft sent to pick you off (usually they're the only ones that can get close enough, fast enough), remember... they're limited to the same area so by the time they do a fly by and get on their way back, they're already a few seconds into their warning interval before they die. Try it out and just make sure that you're painfully aware of your given map locations limitations and surroundings. Oh and also... it's usually good practice to get jeeps positioned around entry points and just leave them there. So if you're waiting for enemy troops to enter say a tunnel or cross a bridge, you've got a somewhat mobile turret that's just chillin for you behind a rock or whatever after next spawn.

So yeah... technically I guess it's not cheating to hop onto the top of the fuselage of a friend's plane!!!
If you're playing multiplayer and want to do some quick and dirty recon work with a buddy, get your weapon of choice (my favorite is the rocket launcher) and hop onto the top of a nearby aircraft and get just up on the fuselage towards the front of the wings edge and crouch. Make sure and tell the pilot to keep the afterburners at a minimum because if he hits the gas you can still get flung off. Trust me, it's like riding a bike. Keep in mind of 2 things though...
One, if he gets too high you will die! Your pilot can still maintain a decent distance from the ground to do enough damage without killing you. Two, remember if your pilot wants to dump you off and go do his own thing he doesn't have to land. Just tell him to fly near the closest sloped mountain then jump off into the slope. You'll slide down (remember to keep your controller pressed like you're walking against the mountain) and land safely.

Having trouble wining your infantry battles? Well here's a tip that might help. If your enemy is shooting at you run around and jump. Keep jumping. It will make it harder to hit you and even harder to get a head shot. Trust me it works.
