Doom 3

Scary? Sort of... on November 08, 2007

Doom3 looks good, plays good, feels good, and runs good.

Problem? It's not scary enough, far too many GOTCHA moments, and not enough real horror. Violence is used too much to make things scary, and overall, Doom 3 is a tad brainless, I still recommend it though.

Deus Ex: Invisible War

This game is fun, but not at all like the first one.

Don't expect the dark and moody atmosphere of the first game in this sequal, it's good, but not great.

The Da Vinci Code

The idea of having secrets concealed in DaVinci artwork is interesting, but having the Catholic Church as the enemy is just plain wrong. Not only does the idiot of an author have his history all wrong, but his claims have no basic in fact.

The game isn't any better.

Counter-Strike

Simple, but fun game on November 08, 2007

This game is really quite neat. I still with the Source version was out for Xbox 360, but since we can't have that, we can have this. The guns sounds and gameplay are all great, but the graphics really are bad. That doesn't mean it's a bad game, but it does mean that if you want a game with good graphics and animations and lots of eye candy, this ain't it.

Don't believe people who say this is the 360 version on Xbox, it's not. It's another great COD game, and I love it. The action, graphics and story are top notch, and it stands as an equal beside COD2 Xbox 360.

This game is great, but the story is lacking, gameplay is fun with things blowing up all around you. I hope you're a great FPS player because it's HARD too.

Halo: Combat Evolved

Halo combines insane action with amazing graphics and gameplay to become one of the best 3D FPS games ever. Multiplayer is a blast with vehicles and weapons galore, and the SP is dark and moody with plenty of gun fighting all around.

Halo 2 is amazing. The SP is fun, and a real ride, and the MP is insane.

The drawbacks are that the SP is short, and the graphics aren't quite what they could be, but the PROs of the game still outweigh the cons.

Halo revolutionized game weaponry and gameplay with recharging shields, 2 weapon limit, and now Halo 2 adds dual weilding and advanced vehicle support.

Seriously, Halo 3 is the best Xbox 360 game ever made, just play the 6th or 7th mission on 4 person online coop with skulls on, and on Legendary, it doesn't get any more fun.

Gears of War, you've been hearing the name all over the place. The hype has been building steadily, and finally, the game you've been waiting for is here!

Is it worth it?

Yes.... and no....

Gears of War combines a vivid story with breathtaking graphics and amazing gameplay to become on of the best games of 2006. However, with all this going for it, GoW still lacks that which would make it a classic.

Firstly, the singleplayer, while very fun, is extremely short, and the in-game sequences where characters stop running and walk to speak into their headsets is often very annoying. The speed of the game is damaged by these short, but useless segments.

Second, the game is very linear, there are different ways to win a fight, but only one way to beat a level, and it shows. The result is always that you kill everything, and then walk to an area.

Third, the story, while good external is lacking internaly. Marcus, Dom and all the other characters, have no real personality, and while they are distinctive, they don't seem nearly real enough.

The multiplayer is excellent, and should give gamers a lot of fun for a long time, the drawbacks are the lack of game types (Warzone and Execution? same thing) but DL content should help.

All in all, a great game, lacking in story and MP modes, but worth the price. Go get it.

Also for those who don't like cursing or blood, you can turn OFF the blood and gore, and you can also turn the voices off and subtitles off.
